Vintage brass Lyfa Gothic III wall lamp, 1960’s (*sold)
Deze erg stijlvolle Gothic III wandlamp in messing is in de 60’er jaren ontworpen door de bekende Deense ontwerper Bent Karlby en geproduceerd door Lyfa.
De Deense ontwerper Bent Karlby liet zich graag inspireren door landen en stijlen, zo heeft hij de China lamp en de Barcelona lamp ontworpen met een knipoog naar deze plekken op aarde. Voor de strakke Gothic III wandlamp heeft hij naar de Gotische stijl uit de Middeleeuwen gekeken. Een belangrijk kenmerk van de Gotiek is ‘de drang naar verticaliteit’ en die is mooi terug te zien in deze wandlamp, die strakke verticale lijnen en scherpe punten heeft en tegelijkertijd golvende vlakken. Gotiek in een modern Deens design jasje.
Deze lamp is kwalitatief hoogwaardig gemaakt van massief messing en in goede staat zonder butsen en deuken, alleen wat patina in de vorm van lichte vlekjes onder de lak, al geeft dat juist charme aan de lamp vinden wij. De lamp is gemerkt door Lyfa en is voorzien van een nieuw wit snoer.
Afmetingen: 30 cm breed, 28 cm hoog en 10 cm diep.

This very stylish Gothic III wall lamp in brass was designed by the well known Danish designer Bent Karlby in the 60’s and produced by Lyfa.
The Danish designer Bent Karlby liked to be inspired by countries and architectural styles, he designed the China (Kina) and the Barcelona pendant lamps with a nod to these places. For this sleek Gothic III wall lamp, he looked at the Gothic style from the Middle Ages. An important characteristic of the Gothic style is ‘the urge for verticality’, which is beautifully reflected in this wall lamp, which has clean vertical lines and at the same time wavy surfaces. It is Gothic style with a (mid century) modern twist.
This lamp is nicely made of solid brass and is in good condition without bumps and dents, just some patina in the brass which adds charm to the lamp, we think. The lamp is marked by Lyfa and has a new white cord.
